The Wright's Ferry Bridge, also known as “Route 30 Bridge”, is a 53-year-old bridge that connects Lancaster and York Counties and crosses over the Susquehanna River. The bridge averages 46,000 vehicles each day as a divided four-lane roadway, and recently underwent a $5.2 million renovation which included the replacement of the aging, nearly 1.5-mile center median barrier. Reeb Building Systems was pleased to supply our first permanent steel barrier, the BarrierGuard 800 system (Minimum Deflection System), which can be used as a permanent barrier and utilizes its lightweight design to minimize dead load on bridge structures. Compared to concrete barriers, BarrierGuard 800 has a significantly lower weight per foot, and allows for easier transport and installation. The BarrierGuard 800 is made with 100% recyclable steel, minimizing its environmental impact.
